Jewish Apple Cake

4 medium apples (quarter, core, and slice - 1 use Macintosh)
4 tea sugar
2 tea cinnamon
4 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
3 cups sifted flour
3 tea baking powder
½ tea salt
1 tea vanilla
½ cup orange juice (use the juice of 2 oranges)

Mix apples with sugar and cinnamon and set aside. Beat eggs. Add oil and sugar. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and add alternatively with orange juice. Add vanilla. In an tube pan, pour ¼ layer batter, 1/3 apples, repeat, ending with batter.
Bake 350 60 - 80 minutes.

Mother's Mother's recipe. Not sure where she got it from. Works best with the fresh squeezed oranges and mazolla corn oil.
