½ cup soft shortening
2 cups sugar
1 large egg
1 ½ cup applesauce
2 ½ cups sifted flour
1 ½ tea baking soda
1 ½ tea salt
¾ tea cinnamon
½ tea cloves
½ tea allspice
½ cup water
|
Cream shortening and sugar till light and fluffy. Beat eggs and applesauce into creamed mixture. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternatively with water. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan
Bake 350 45 - 50 minutes or 35 - 40 minutes for cupcakes.
