Sift 1st 3 ingredients together and set aside. Cream shortening, peanut butter. Gradually add sugar and brown sugar. Add egg, milk, vanilla. Beat well. Blend in dry ingredients. Shape into balls. Press down with fork. May top with chocolate hershey kiss if desired.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes
