Shoo-Fly Pie

3/4 cup Karo (dark) or molasses
3/4 cup boiling water
3/4 tea baking soda
1.5 cup flour
1/4 cup crisco
1/2 cup sugar
1 unbaked pie shell

Add Karo and baking soda to boiling water. Mix until foam leaves mixture (3 minutes). Mix flour, crisco and sugar until crumbly. Pour 1/3 of karo mixture in the bottom of pie
shell and top with 1/3rd of crumb batter. Repeat, adding remaining Karo mixture and crumb batter in thirds, finishing with crumbs on top.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes
