Simple Indigestion
Simple indigestion may be cured by drinking a cup of hot water. Adding one teaspoon of Baking soda.
Acute Indigestion
Treatment for acute indigestion is to empty the stomach as quickly as possible by drinking four or five cups of warm water, one after the other, without resting.
This procedure almost immediately breaks up the indigestible substances in the stomach and they are promptly ejected. After the stomach is emptied, it is advisable to take
effervescent citrate of magnesia or a seidlitz powder then lie down to rest. No food should be taken if the stomach feels sick. Small pieces of ice may be sucked to relieve thirst and nausea.
The return to solid food should be gradual.
